Job Overview:
Plans, directs and supervises all aspects of the Sleep Disorders Center. Implements department policy and activities and coordinates them with other hospital departments and the community at large. Assist the Supervisor scheduling and receiving authorization from insurance companies. Frequent interaction with patients, physicians, hospital family, department staff, families and visitors.
Qualifications:
Required:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Communication and organizational skills
- Must maintain a professional demeanor; and must display a proven analytical
- Capability and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Prior Authorization/insurance verification, registration, or patient accounting experience
- One to three years prior experience working in healthcare setting.
Preferred:
- College or associate degree
- Medical Terminology and statistical background.
Scheduling Requirements:
- Day
- Full-Time
Essential Functions:
- Maintains accurate file and records at all times
- Faxes reports to offices
- Assists with the development of needed guidelines, and standards, perform monthly outcome analysis
- Works with physician offices, and patients to assist in obtaining insurance authorizations, and scheduling patients for sleep studies
- Works with FCC, and scheduling departments
- Preregisters patients
- Ability to work independently, problem solve, concentrate on details, prioritize and follow through with all established guidelines
- Is responsible for reporting identified safety issues such as hazardous environments (i.e. damaged floors/walls/ceiling tiles/unsecured areas)
