As a Per Diem Registered Nurse (RN), a typical day may include:
- Performing comprehensive nursing assessments and coordinating individualized care plans for patients receiving infusion and oncology services
- Safely administering chemotherapy, immunotherapy, iron infusions, blood transfusions, IV hydration, non-chemotherapy infusions, therapeutic phlebotomies, and injectable therapies in accordance with established clinical standards
- Monitoring patients throughout treatment, recognizing changes in condition, managing infusion-related reactions, and responding promptly to clinical concerns
- Providing expert care and maintenance of venous access devices while promoting patient comfort and safety
- Delivering compassionate education to patients and families regarding treatment plans, medications, symptom management, and self-care following infusion therapy
- Collaborating closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, pharmacists, and the multidisciplinary care team to coordinate treatment plans and optimize patient outcomes
- Conducting telephone triage, assessing patient symptoms, and providing timely clinical guidance and follow-up recommendations
- Coordinating multiple appointments and ensuring seamless continuity of care across the patient's treatment journey
- Maintaining accurate documentation within the electronic medical record while adhering to organizational policies and patient safety standards
- Building meaningful relationships with patients through compassionate communication, empathy, and a commitment to delivering exceptional outpatient oncology care

To be considered for this Per Diem Registered Nurse opportunity, you must hold an active New Jersey Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing and current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification. An Associate Degree in Nursing is required, while a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred. Oncology, ambulatory care, hospital, or subacute nursing experience is preferred but not required. Candidates should possess strong clinical assessment, communication, and critical thinking skills, along with a passion for delivering exceptional outpatient infusion care.
