Job Summary:

RWJBH is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider Lead for the Neurosurgery APP service line

This role will have responsibilities in all areas of neurosurgery including the ICU, floor, and operating room

Essential Functions:

  • The Lead APP will work with the leadership team to help manage day-to-day operations of the neurosurgery service
  • The candidate must be comfortable with working in all areas but must have a desire to learn and grow as a leader while supporting new staff
  • The candidate will work with the other lead APP to provide administrative support and oversite of training new staff in all areas as well as providing education on topics such as bedside invasive procedures ex, EVD placement
  • This position is a clinical position with 80% of the work being clinical and 20% being administrative
  • There will be an emphasis on growing the service line and supporting operational initiatives of the neurosciences division
  • Clinical work will include supporting all shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays

Education:

  • Graduate of a Family NP program with demonstrated experience with acute inpatient hospital care
  • Graduate of RNFA program with demonstrated skill in neurosurgery
  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program

Experience

  • 3-7 years of demonstrated high functioning neurosurgery experience at a large academic center is preferred
  • Demonstrated leadership role in the past preferred
  • Experience with working at the top of license with autonomy in all clinical areas is required
  • Licenses and Certifications
  • Current NJ APN PA license required
  • NCCPA certification required
  • CDS required
  • DEA required
  • RN required
  • RNFA certification required if going to work in the operating room,
  • BLS required
  • ACLS required
  • Stroke education hours
