CT Technologist – RWJBarnabas Health

At RWJBarnabas Health, the CT Technologists plays a critical role in patient care and operational excellence. Operating with a high level of independence, they perform complex CT diagnostic procedures according to strict medical, legal, and professional imaging standards. They are responsible for exercising professional judgment during scans, ensuring accurate patient positioning, delivering age-specific care, and maintaining seamless workflow collaboration within the imaging department.

A typical day for a CT Technologist may include:

  • Performs high-quality CT procedures at an advanced technical level without requiring constant direct supervision
  • Exercises sound professional judgment and technical precision during scan execution to ensure optimal diagnostic imaging
  • Evaluates and assesses each patient's age-specific needs, utilizing an understanding of growth and development to deliver customized treatment
  • Manages the scan workflow process, ensuring accurate patient identification, proper safety screening, and clear pre-procedure instruction
  • Collaborates professionally with radiologists, nurses, and emergency staff, providing timely communication and exceptional patient care
  • Maintains strict compliance with radiation safety guidelines, department protocols, and regulatory imaging standards
  • Utilizes downtime efficiently to clean equipment, check inventory, stock scanning rooms, and assist other areas of the imaging department
  • Reports all equipment variances, technical discrepancies, or patient safety concerns immediately to departmental leadership

To be considered for this Pharmacist I opportunity:

  • Graduate of an AMA-approved School of Radiologic Technology
  • Must hold and maintain an active license/registration from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • Must hold and maintain an active Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist License from the State of New Jersey
  • Post-primary certification in Computed Tomography (CT) is required
  • Practical experience operating CT scanning equipment in a clinical or hospital setting is required
  • Availability to work on an hourly, Per Diem (PD) basis covering weekday evening shifts and alternating weekend schedules
