As a Per Diem Referral Development Liaison at Children's Specialized Hospital, you'll serve as a trusted ambassador, building strong partnerships with referring hospitals, physicians, case managers, and healthcare professionals while ensuring a seamless, family-centered admissions experience. Working closely with the Director of Pre-Admissions and multidisciplinary teams, you'll help expand access to one of the nation's leading pediatric rehabilitation healthcare systems by fostering meaningful relationships and supporting strategic growth initiatives. Joining Children's Specialized Hospital means becoming part of a mission-driven organization dedicated to improving the lives of children with complex medical, developmental, behavioral, and rehabilitation needs.

As a Referral Development Liaison, a typical day may include:

  • Partnering with the Director of Pre-Admissions to support referral development initiatives that align with organizational goals for inpatient rehabilitation and long-term care services
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with hospitals, physicians, case managers, discharge planners, and other referral sources across assigned territories
  • Coordinating, documenting, and facilitating safe, timely, and family-centered admissions to Children's Specialized Hospital inpatient rehabilitation and long-term care programs
  • Conducting in-person and virtual outreach activities to strengthen existing partnerships while cultivating new referral relationships
  • Serving as a trusted resource for referral partners by providing education on Children's Specialized Hospital services, admission criteria, and patient care capabilities
  • Collaborating closely with Referral Development, Insurance Verification and Authorization, Patient Care Coordination, and Medical Clinical teams to ensure seamless communication throughout the admissions process
  • Monitoring referral activity, identifying opportunities for growth, and supporting initiatives that enhance access to specialized pediatric rehabilitation services
  • Demonstrating an understanding of healthcare operations, regulatory requirements, payer considerations, and market dynamics to support informed referral development strategies
  • Maintaining accurate documentation, tracking referral activity, and communicating updates in a timely, transparent, and professional manner
  • Participating in departmental meetings, strategic planning sessions, and organizational initiatives as directed by the Director of Pre-Admissions

This role might be for you if:

  • You enjoy building lasting professional relationships and serving as a trusted healthcare partner
  • You communicate with confidence, empathy, and professionalism across a wide range of clinical and administrative audiences
  • You thrive in a role that combines strategic outreach with meaningful patient and family impact
  • You are highly organized and able to manage multiple priorities while maintaining exceptional attention to detail
  • Collaboration comes naturally, and you enjoy working across departments to achieve shared goals
  • You possess strong problem-solving skills and can navigate complex healthcare environments with professionalism and sound judgment
  • You are passionate about helping children and families gain access to life-changing rehabilitation services

To be considered for this Referral Development Liaison opportunity, candidates should possess experience in healthcare operations, business development, referral management, patient access, care coordination, or a related healthcare setting. Strong knowledge of hospital operations, healthcare regulations, insurance authorization processes, and referral pathways is highly preferred. The ideal candidate demonstrates exceptional relationship-building, communication, organizational, and critical thinking skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams. Previous experience supporting physician outreach, hospital admissions, rehabilitation services, or pediatric healthcare is a plus. This per diem, day shift opportunity offers the flexibility to engage with referral partners throughout the region while helping connect children and families to one of the nation's leading pediatric rehabilitation healthcare systems.
