The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.
A Typical Day
Hospital operating room (OR) supply chain technicians with the titles of inventory specialist, OR material assistant, materials specialist, and OR Technicians, support surgical services by ensuring procurement, inventory supply management, distribution, and replenishment of surgical supplies are timely to avoid delay in OR cases.
The role works closely with OR coordinators and supply chain management to ensure the OR is fully stocked, compliant, and prepared for daily surgeries to maintain efficient operations and support patient care.
- Stock, organize, and replenish operating room supplies,
- Monitor inventory levels and maintain appropriate PAR levels of surgical supplies and implants to prevent shortages and overstock; collaborate with OR coordinator and OR manager by using data to drive PARs,
- Order, receive, inspect, and distribute surgical supplies, implants, and specialty items,
- Ensure expired, damaged, or recalled items are removed and managed promptly,
- Manage and track implants using the UDI tracker,
- Reviews OR booking sheets with OR manager and plans supply procurement accordingly
- Process Bill Only requisitions within established time frame; monitors STAT requisitions to avoid increased cost,
- Resolve back orders and shortages by collaborating with clinical team for clinically approved substitutes or replacements,
- Conducts documented inventory audits and rounding,
- Support emergency supply requests and replenishment needs,
- Maintain compliance with hospital and department policies, safety standards, infection prevention, and regulatory requirements,

To Be Considered
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
Schedule Requirements:
Full-Time, Days. Mon-Fri, 7am-3:30pm
Preferred
- One to two years of hospital supply chain operations experience
