A typical day for a Certified Sterile Processing Technician may include:

  • Performing and participating in the decontamination and cleaning of all received instrumentation and equipment.
     
  • Operating index washers, cart washers, and ultrasonic cleaners while manually cleaning instruments according to established standards
     
  • Inspecting all instruments for cleanliness, proper function, and breakage before assembly
     
  • Assembles instrument sets using appropriate containers, wraps, or pouches according to size
     
  • Sterilizing instruments and surgical trays by operating steam and Sterrad sterilizers following prescribed policies.
     
  • Running tests on all sterilizers, monitoring processes, and documenting that all parameters have been met.
     
  • Using chemicals safely and appropriately while wearing correct personal protective equipment (PPE).
     
  • Preparing case carts and trays for decontamination, loading washers, and accurately assembling carts to expedite the OR schedule.
     
  • Maintaining adequate inventory for the assembly of instruments and equipment to support efficient daily operations.
     
  • Contributing to a collaborative team environment where professionalism, communication, and patient-centered care are shared priorities.

To be considered for this Certified Central Sterile Technician opportunity, you are passionate about delivering compassionate patient care while creating a positive experience for every individual you serve.

  • This position is a Per Diem, night shift schedule.
  • You hold a current National Sterile Processing Certification.
  • A minimum of 2 years of CSPD experience is required.
  • Five years of CRCST experience in a hospital setting or Same Day Surgery Center is preferred.
