Clinical Supervisor – RWJBarnabas Health
At RWJBarnabas Health, the Clinical Supervisor plays a critical role in patient care and operational excellence. Operating with a high level of independence, they perform complex nursing care and clinical oversight procedures according to strict medical, legal, and professional nursing standards. They are responsible for exercising professional judgment during clinical situations, ensuring accurate resource allocation, delivering age-specific care, and maintaining seamless workflow collaboration within the patient care setting.
A typical day for a Clinical Supervisor may include:
- Prepares clinical schedules and resource allocations, clearly explains the process, and positions staff for effective unit coverage to meet demand
- Operates a variety of tracking applications, scheduling systems, computers, and medical tools necessary to ensure a safe and accurate diagnostic and therapeutic procedure environment
- Assist physicians and practice managers during examinations and operational planning by supervising, circulating, or monitoring daily team activities
- Sets up training protocols and orientation workflows following institutional guidelines, handles performance evaluations, and tracks competencies to assist with staff retention
- Calibrates, maintains, and adjusts budgetary guidelines, and reports identified safety issues, hazardous environments, or medical errors immediately to leadership
- Monitors and calls out budget variances, alerting the practice manager immediately to any changes in department conditions or needs
- Utilizes electronic records and documentation systems to enter accurately identified and verified data of patients, and retrieves old medical histories and charts when necessary
- Demonstrates working knowledge of practice protocols including CQI principles, infection control, safety, and regulatory compliance techniques
- Collaborates professionally in an acute or ambulatory practice environment, working in close cooperation with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other technical staff
- Demonstrates initiative, flexibility, and the ability to assume multi-task duties and function under significant time pressures

To be considered for this Clinical Supervisor opportunity:
- Graduate with an Associate's degree in nursing or medical assisting; a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred
- Problem-solving, critical thinking, decisive judgment, collaboration, and the ability to work with minimal supervision
- Must hold a minimum level of clinical licensing as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), though a Registered Nurse (RN) license is highly preferred
- Active and unrestricted professional clinical licensure or certification in the State of New Jersey
- Minimum of 2 to 3 years of clinical experience in a related medical specialty area
- Available to work a standard Monday to Friday daytime schedule
- Previous office supervisory, managerial, or clinical team leadership experience is preferred
- Bilingual communication skills are considered a strong asset for this role
- Willingness and flexibility to travel to additional practice locations in Lakewood and West Long Branch as needed
