Cashier

Job Overview:

Under the supervision of a Department of Food and Nutrition Services Supervisor or Manager, the Food Service Worker performs a wide variety of routine tasks such as itemize total food/beverage orders and ring orders into the cash register.

Qualifications:

Required:

•  High school diploma or equivalent required
• Basic math skills
• Ability to run a cash register efficiently and handle cash properly

 Preferred:

• Prior cashier experience preferred

Scheduling Requirements

• Shift: Evening
• Status: Per Diem  
• Position may require work every other weekend depending on the department’s needs.

Essential Functions:

• Itemize total food/beverage orders and ring orders into the cash register
• Collects payment from customers and makes change, maintains accuracy of the cash drawer
• Reconciles cash receipts to sales to verify accuracy of all transactions
• Maintain areas of the serving line.
