At Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center, the Operating Room (OR) Registered Nurse (RN) provides comprehensive patient care throughout the perioperative process. They are responsible for ensuring the safety and comfort of patients during surgical procedures as well as preparing the operating room, handling surgical equipment, and collaborating with the surgical team. The OR RN will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and adhere to the highest standards and practice of patient safety, infection control and professional ethics. As an OR Nurse, a typical day might include:

• Scrubbing in and circulating in a variety of OR specialty areas such as Robotics, Surgical Oncology, Plastics, Transplant, Neurology, Thoracic, Trauma, Cardiac, Vascular, ENT/Head and Neck, GYN, Urology and Bariatrics.
• Participation in complex surgeries using the latest technology in our state-of-the-art surgical suites.
• Serving as an integral member of the perioperative team and advocate for patients undergoing anesthesia and/or sedation.
• Working cooperatively with the multidisciplinary care team to maintain professional nursing practice standards in the perioperative setting
• Participating in shared clinical decision-making

To be considered for this RN opportunity, you must hold an active New Jersey Registered Nurse license in good standing; Hold a current American Heart Association BLS certification. Must have prior operating room experience or completion of a perioperative 101 course.  A bachelor’s degree in nursing is strongly preferred. This position offers a full-time 37.5-hour working week consisting of three 12.5 hour night shifts. The schedule is 6:30A-7:30P.
