The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

At RWJBarnabas Health, our Hospital Violence Intervention Program (HVIP) connects individuals impacted by community violence with compassionate, trauma-informed support and resources. As the HVIP Coordinator, you’ll help lead the day-to-day work of the Violence Intervention Specialists while supporting trauma patients as they enroll in the program and navigate services. Working closely with a multidisciplinary team, you’ll help ensure participants receive individualized support while strengthening program operations, data collection, and community connections.

In this role, you’ll be:

  • Providing day-to-day supervision, guidance, and coordination for Violence Intervention Specialists (VIS).
  • Assisting with the initial assessment and enrollment of trauma patients into the Hospital Violence Intervention Program.
  • Coordinating trauma-informed case management services, including crisis intervention, safety planning, advocacy, goal setting, and addressing barriers to care.
  • Collaborating with the multidisciplinary team to connect participants with appropriate community resources and social services.
  • Building rapport with individuals from diverse backgrounds while providing compassionate, trauma-informed support.
  • Monitoring and tracking participant referrals, services, and program outcomes.
  • Overseeing data collection, including participant demographic information and data required for internal and funder reporting.
  • Training and supporting staff in accurately documenting information in required formats and reports.
  • Maintaining and updating the online case management system.
  • Preparing meeting agendas and supporting ongoing program operations and process improvement.

To Be Considered

To be considered for this position, candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in social work, public health, behavioral health, psychology, human services, or a related field. Three years of recent case management experience may be considered in place of an undergraduate degree. Candidates must have knowledge of trauma-informed case management, strong listening and relationship-building skills, and the ability to coordinate the work of frontline case managers serving traumatically injured crime victims. Proficiency in data collection, analysis, documentation, referral tracking, and online case management systems is also required. Training in trauma-related case management with crime victims and violence prevention is preferred.
