Corporate Security Dispatcher serves as an important part of the Security team by staffing the Security Communications Center and supporting the communication, coordination, and operational activities of the Corporate Security Team. This role combines strong communication, organization, technology skills, situational awareness, and critical thinking to help maintain a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, staff, and healthcare operations. The Security Dispatcher monitors security and life-safety systems, coordinates responses to incidents and alarms, dispatches Security personnel and equipment, communicates with internal departments and external emergency responders, and maintains accurate security records and reports. The ability to remain calm and organized in a fast-paced environment, quickly adapt to changing circumstances, and communicate effectively across a highly matrixed organization is critical to success in this position.

As a Corporate Security Dispatcher, a typical day might include the following:

Continuously monitoring CCTV, access control, fire alarm, and other security systems to identify potential threats, safety concerns, or system breaches

Monitoring and responding to security and fire alarms by assessing situations and initiating appropriate actions, including dispatching Security personnel or contacting emergency services

Serving as a central communication point for the Security team by relaying information through radio, telephone, email, and other communication systems

Coordinating and dispatching Security personnel and equipment to incidents, problem areas, and other locations requiring assistance

Coordinating with local police, fire departments, emergency medical services, and other emergency responders during security incidents, medical emergencies, fires, natural disasters, and other critical events

Using access control systems, CCTV management systems, and visitor management systems to support daily Security operations

Maintaining accurate and detailed logs of security events, alarms, incidents, communications, and actions taken

Preparing incident reports, data summaries, and recommendations for Security leadership and management

Reviewing, assessing, and analyzing security-related data using Microsoft Excel to identify trends, patterns, and areas requiring attention

Using advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, to organize and analyze operational and security data

Managing radio and telephone communications and maintaining accurate call logs

Supporting key control activities and maintaining appropriate documentation

Supporting Security operations by coordinating incoming and outgoing shipments and other communications center activities

Learning and utilizing new security technologies and systems as they are implemented

Maintaining a highly organized and professional approach while responding quickly to changing priorities and operational needs

The Corporate Security Dispatcher role might be for you if:

You have strong critical-thinking, problem-solving, multitasking, and decision-making skills

You are comfortable monitoring multiple systems simultaneously, including CCTV, access control, fire alarm, and visitor management systems

You are highly organized and detail-oriented when maintaining logs, documenting incidents, preparing reports, and managing operational information

You are highly proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint

You have advanced Microsoft Excel skills and are comfortable quickly creating and using pivot tables to analyze and present data

You are comfortable learning new technology and adapting to new security systems and operational tools

You have experience working in a Corporate Security, Hospital Security, Contract Security, Command Center, or Security Communications environment

You can communicate effectively across a highly matrixed organization and collaborate with multiple internal departments and external emergency response agencies

You are committed to helping protect people, property, information, and the quality of the healthcare environment

This is a Full Time position with multiple 8-hour shift opportunities.

To be considered for this opportunity, you should have at least two years of security dispatch or command center operator experience. A Bachelor’s Degree in Corporate Security, National Security, Criminal Justice, Law, Business Management, Emergency Management, or a related field is preferred. Experience working in a Corporate Security, Hospital Security, or Contract Security department is also preferred.

Excellent administrative, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills are required. You must be highly proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint, with expert-level Microsoft Excel skills, including the ability to quickly create pivot tables and analyze data. You must be results- and goal-oriented with strong critical-thinking and multitasking capabilities and the ability to communicate effectively and efficiently across a highly matrixed organization.

Bilingual or multilingual language skills are strongly preferred depending on facility needs. Membership in a professional security organization, such as ASIS International or the International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS), is also preferred.
