Job Overview:
Supply Chain Supervisors oversee daily operations of supply chain logistics and receiving functions to ensure clinical staff have the right supplies, at the right time, without overstocking to ensure uninterrupted patient care. This role supervises supply chain staff. This role combines operations, inventory control, staff supervision, and cost management. Supervisors work closely with Supply Chain managers and directors to ensure department objectives and goals are met.
As an Supply Chain Supervisor, a typical day might include:
- Supervises distribution, receiving and logistics staff; hold staff accountable to regulatory, organizational, hospital and supply chain policies.
- Supervise supply chain operations including but not limited to receiving, distribution and inventory management.
- Manage inventory levels to avoid stockouts, work with clinical resource team to identify clinically acceptable substitute items for back-ordered items.
- Create schedules, train employees, and evaluate performance.
- Acts as a subject matter expert (SME) for all things supply chain specifically related to supply chain inventory systems and technology.
- Ensure critical supplies such as personal protection equipment (PPE) are readily available.
- Lead process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
- Develops and maintains relationships with hospital clinicians, vendors, and site leadership.
- Assist SC manager to track and monitor all supply recalls through RWJBH recall tool and other recall notifications.
- Collaborate with risk management to identify items by department following the RWJBH Recall Policy.
- Ensure use of UDI tissue tracking technology to comply with RWJBH Tissue Tracking Policy.

- Experience in analyzing healthcare processes and identifying areas of improvement.
- Ability to push and or pull fifty pounds.
To be considered for this opportunity, you must currently meet the below criteria:
- Have a High School diploma or GED equivalent
- Meet scheduling requirements of the day shift: 8 AM to 4:30 PM Monday - Friday
- Alternating Holidays and Weekends
- It is preferred that you have one to three years of supervisory or management experience in a hospital setting.
