The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

A Typical Day

The Dispatch Coordinator is responsible for overseeing all administrative and operational policies and procedures in the communication center.Standard of performance is based on the practical use and knowledge of skills, and techniques within the NAED EMD Guidelines, Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD)software, 9-1-1 Phone system, relevant 9-1-1 access points, and compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and RWJBH EMS policies.

Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:

• Conducts self and sets expectations for others to conduct themselves in a manner consistent with our Mission, Vision, Values, Characteristics, Credo and Mantra
• Capable of communicating clearly, effectively and in English via written and verbal means
• Responsible for baseline and continuing knowledge of RWJBH policies and procedures and all applicable State and Federal statutes and regulations concerning basic telecommunicator, EMD certifications, and accreditation status
• Responsible for updating, educating, and enforcement of the policies, procedures, and guidelinesInteracts professionally with management, colleagues from other EMS agencies, public safety personnel, other PSAP/Dispatch Centers, and members of the public
• Required to attend regularly scheduled Administrative meetings with operational work groups
• Responsible for maintaining all RWJBH Communication reporting including correcting all reported deficiencies in a timely manner
• Any deficiency that is unable to be corrected in a timely manner must be escalated to the Communication Manager
• In addition, the Coordinator must meet all of the requirements of the Dispatcher 1 and Dispatcher 2 responsibilities and job functions descriptions except where waived by the appropriate authority
• Coordinator will be required to work to the level of their certification within the RWJBH EMS division when circumstances warrant
• This may be accomplished as a first responder (as permitted by regulation), as a staff member when the minimum staffing level is not achieved, or at the discretion of the manager for operational control
• Performs other duties as required or requested by management team, necessary to the function of the department or training level

To Be Considered

Required:

• 3-years of medical dispatch experience
• Must be at least 18 years of age

Preferred:

• Associates Degree or higher, preferred
• 3-years of supervisory experience, preferred

Licenses and Certifications Required:

• NJ Basic Telecommunicator certification
• IAED EMD certification
• ACPE-SPO, preferred
