Adjunct Therapist

Summary: The Adjunct Creative Arts Therapist provides therapeutic services utilizing creative arts interventions within inpatient and outpatient mental health and eating disorder treatment programs

A typical day as an Adjunct Therapist may look like:

  • Responsible for facilitating therapeutic groups, contributing to interdisciplinary treatment planning, and promoting patient engagement through evidence-based expressive modalities
  • There therapist works collaboratively with members of the treatment team to support individuals in achieving treatment goals related to emotional regulation, coping skills development, self-expression, recovery, and overall well-being
  • This role requires flexibility to provide coverage based on program needs, including weekends and holidays
  • The Adjunct Creative Arts therapist will maintain professional standards of practice and complete all required documentation in accordance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and facilitate therapeutic groups utilizing creative arts interventions with adolescent and adult behavioral health populations
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed care and evidence-based practices relevant to mental health and eating disorder treatment
  • Ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team and communicate effectively with patients, families, and colleagues
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills, including timely completion of clinical records in the electronic medical record system
  • Ability to manage crisis situations appropriately, utilize de-escalation techniques, and maintain professional boundaries
  • Flexibility to provide coverage across inpatient and outpatient programs, including weekends, holidays, and other shifts as program needs require

To be considered for this opportunity, you must have:

  • A B.S./B.A. or M.S./M.A. in Occupational, Recreational Therapy or Vocational Counseling required. License commensurate with the degree
  • Member of NTRS or ATRA preferred
  • Minimum 2-3 years in Recreational Therapy
