The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.
Chart Coordinator prepares and organizes all perioperative medical records prior to the scheduled day of surgery, to facilitate preparation of patients for surgery and special procedures upon admission.
As Chart Coordinator, a typical day might include the following:
- Answering phone calls and e-mails, greeting patients, visitors
- Performing secretarial support functions as required in the department
- Collaborating with physicians, nurses, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to promote efficient workflows and positive patient experiences
- Communicating with other departments, and works closely with pre-admission testing to ensure the continuity of patient data collection
- Completing unit-based competencies as per JCAHO and other regulatory agencies
- Collaborating with physicians, nurses, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to promote efficient workflows and positive patient experiences
- Generating new work methods and procedures to facilitate chart preparation,
- Maintaining a high level of confidentiality when dealing with patients and co-workers
- Organizing and documenting patient information in accordance with established procedure
- Supporting the daily operations of the department by maintaining supplies and ensuring an organized work environment

To be considered for this position, candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Strong communication, organizational, multitasking, and computer skills are essential, as is the ability to work effectively in a collaborative healthcare environment. At least two (2) years of administrative and secretarial experience in office setting within a large institution. Must be available and flexible with schedules- Monday-Friday, the hours can be from 6:00am-2:00pm, 8:00am-4:00pm, 9:00am-5:00pm.
