As a Housekeeping Worker Lead, you'll help maintain the cleanliness, safety, and overall environment of patient rooms, nursing stations, ancillary areas, and other spaces throughout the hospital.

As a Housekeeping Worker Lead, a typical day might include the following:

  • Cleaning and disinfecting environmental surfaces throughout assigned areas according to department policies and procedures.
  • Performing patient discharge room cleaning to prepare rooms for incoming patients.
  • Cleaning and disinfecting geri chairs, dayroom furniture, tray tables, and other common-area furnishings.
  • Vacuuming carpets and dry- or wet-mopping floors in patient rooms, offices, and other assigned areas.
  • Scrubbing and buffing floors using approved equipment.
  • Maintaining clean and sanitary restrooms throughout the facility and replenishing paper towels, toilet paper, soap, and seat-cover dispensers.
  • Responding to emergency spills when observed or upon request.
  • Emptying waste baskets, removing trash, and transporting waste from utility rooms and collection points to designated areas.
  • Compacting, incinerating, or properly placing trash into designated containers.
  • Preparing and using cleaning solutions according to established procedures.
  • Reading cleaning-agent labels and recognizing potential hazards to help maintain a safe working environment.
  • Maintaining housekeeping equipment in clean, working condition and reporting or arranging for repairs when needed.
  • Observing and reporting needed repairs involving equipment, furniture, buildings, and fixtures.
  • Cleaning and properly storing supplies and equipment in designated housekeeping closets.
  • Arranging furniture for meetings, workshops, and community events as needed.
  • Following established cleaning schedules, prescribed methods, and Environmental Services standards.

Experience working in a fast-paced environment where cleanliness and responsiveness are essential. This is a Full-Time role, primarily 8:00am-5:30pm, with rotating holidays and weekends.
