The Application Analyst II supports the design, build, configuration, testing, implementation, and ongoing support of clinical applications across RWJBarnabas Health, with a focus on STERIS SPM, STERIS Endo, PillCam, and ProVation.
Working with moderate supervision, the Application Analyst II partners with clinical operations, Informatics, training teams, and technical stakeholders to maintain application functionality, optimize workflows, troubleshoot issues, and support enhancements, upgrades, and system changes.
As an Application Analyst II, a typical day may include:
- Supporting and maintaining STERIS SPM, STERIS Endo, PillCam, and ProVation applications and related clinical workflows
- Designing, building, configuring, testing, and supporting assigned clinical applications
- Troubleshooting application, integration, workflow, and customer issues and recommending appropriate solutions
- Partnering with clinical Operations, Informatics, training teams, and application peers to align system functionality with clinical workflows
- Supporting application upgrades, enhancements, testing, system modifications, and ongoing maintenance
- Providing go-live, post-go-live, and on-call application support
- Managing application support tickets while providing timely customer updates and detailed resolution documentation
- Developing test scripts, future-state workflows, change readiness materials, and project documentation
- Documenting build decisions, workflow changes, issues, risks, enhancements, and system modifications
- Following established change control, application governance, and issue management processes
- Sharing application knowledge and serving as a resource for Level I analysts
This Role Might Be For You If
- You have hands-on experience supporting STERIS SPM, STERIS Endo, PillCam, and ProVation
- You understand clinical application workflows and enjoy translating operational needs into technical solutions
- You enjoy troubleshooting clinical application, workflow, and system issues
- You can independently manage moderately complex application support and build assignments
- You are comfortable balancing application support, testing, upgrades, enhancements, and customer needs
- You communicate effectively with clinical users, operational teams, and technical stakeholders
To Be Considered for the Application Analyst II position, you must have:
- Associate’s degree with 2+ years of relevant work experience
- Experience with STERIS SPM, STERIS Endo, PillCam, and ProVation
- Experience supporting clinical applications, system build, configuration, testing, or related application activities
- Knowledge of clinical system workflows and processes
- Ability to independently support assigned application work with moderate supervision
- Strong application troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to document system changes, workflows, issues, risks, and resolutions
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Applicable application certification, or ability to obtain certification as required for the assigned application
- Ability to maintain required certification through New Version Training (NVT), as applicable
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant work experience
- 3+ years of clinical application, system build, application support, healthcare IT, or related experience
- Healthcare IT experience
- Experience supporting application implementations, upgrades, enhancements, and go-lives
- Experience with application testing, change control, issue management, and governance processes
- Clinical licensure, when applicable
