The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

Director

The Director of Social Work, Behavioral Health will oversee the daily operations of the Inpatient Social Workers, Inpatient Adjunct Therapy Department, and the Intensive Outpatient Program, and ensure they meet all regulatory and safety standards. With an operational focus on the growth and development of outpatient services, the Director will collaborate with the inpatient units, PESS, and other outside referral sources, providing the gateway for patients to enter the program,

A typical day as a Director of Social Work may look like:

  • The Director is responsible for the oversight of the inpatient social work and adjunct therapy teams and their role in the interdisciplinary team as it relates to the care of the patients,
  • The Director is responsible for supervising the milieu and service coordination, supervising the direct care and ancillary staff, and reviewing therapy notes, discharge plans, and other documentation and data to ensure compliance with the New Jersey Division of Mental Health and Addiction Services, DMAHS (Medicaid), The Joint Commission, and CMS,
  • The Administrative Director will also develop and maintain Policies and Procedures, facilitate interdisciplinary team meetings and morning huddles, take an active role in Performance Improvement and Patient Satisfaction, and maintain communication with the Medical staff inclusive of clinical director and APNs
  • Ensure that departments are in compliance with all applicable policies, laws, and regulations
  • Maintains positive relationships with all customers, employees, physician, patients, visitor, and guests
  • Utilizes a variety of feedback to improve processes and services to meet and exceed customer needs
  • Uses sound employee relations practices and maintains high levels of visibility and accessibility
  • Follows through on all customer requests and inquiries in a timely fashion
  • Utilizes principles of CQI in all work situations
  • Seeks feedback and recommendations from others to improve the quality, processes and services
  • Contributes to improving quality services and productivity (takes the initiative to continually evaluate one s work, report problems, suggest solutions and try new ideas)
  • Effectively allocates and schedules resources
  • Able to project and appropriately staff the unit/department to effectively function to demand
  • Utilizes resources, both labor and non-labor, to maximize efficiency and quality
  • Adheres to budgetary guidelines and targets; proactively manages budget variances and causes,
  • Determines priorities and organizes work and time to meet them
  • Follows sound employee retention techniques; effective selection and interviewing, recognition, fair and timely discipline, and ongoing performance feedback
  • Interacts constructively, tactfully, and diplomatically with others and resolves conflicts effectively

  • Completes tasks and assignments in a timely, accurate and efficient manner

  • Manages a caseload of assigned patients in collaboration with other members of the treatment team
  • Documents clinical data according to agency standards and protocols
  • Integrates departmen s services with the facilitys primary functions
  • Directs patient care in a manner which ensures patients, significant others and associates are treated with dignity , respect and compassion
  • Interviews, selects, promotes and terminates staff per established hospital policies and Federal/State Laws,
  • Determines the qualifications and competence of department personnel who provide patient care services and who are not licensed independent practitioners
  • Promotes staff effectiveness/competency through goal setting, role modeling and provision of learning opportunities
  • Develops/revises plan for patient care delivery in assigned areas
  • Identifies and corrects actual/potential problems
  • Recommends/ selects appropriate indicators to measure performance
  • Communicates QA & QI findings as required
  • Ensures the provision of Patient Family education

To be considered for this opportunity, you must have

  • Graduate from an accredited school of Social Work
  • Masters degree in social work Required
  • Current NJ Social Work licensure as an LCSW with certification to provide Clinical Supervision required
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in an outpatient or inpatient setting with proven Supervisory experience
  • Successful completion of all system/facility required orientation and annual education and competency programs
