The Application Analyst II independently supports the design, build, configuration, testing, implementation, and ongoing support of assigned healthcare applications across RWJBarnabas Health.
Working with moderate supervision, the Application Analyst II partners with Operations, Informatics, training teams, and application peers to optimize workflows, resolve application and build issues, support system enhancements and upgrades, and maintain reliable application functionality. This position also serves as a knowledge resource for Level I Application Analysts.
Designing, building, configuring, testing, and supporting assigned healthcare applications and workflows
Working with Operations and Informatics to understand customer needs and optimize application functionality
Partnering with training teams to ensure alignment between system build, workflows, and training materials
Researching application, workflow, and build issues and recommending appropriate solutions
Troubleshooting routine and moderately complex application issues and escalating when appropriate
Supporting application implementations, upgrades, enhancements, go-lives, and ongoing maintenance
Developing and executing test scripts and documenting testing outcomes
Providing go-live, post-go-live, and on-call application support
Managing incidents, requests, and enhancement tickets while maintaining clear customer communication
Documenting build decisions, workflow changes, system modifications, issues, risks, and enhancement requirements
Supporting application governance, change control, and issue management processes
Sharing application knowledge and validating newly certified or new build work completed by Level I analysts
You have experience with healthcare applications, system build, or application support
You can independently manage assigned application work with moderate supervision
You enjoy troubleshooting application, workflow, and customer issues
You understand how system functionality impacts clinical, financial, or operational workflows
You have experience with application testing, implementations, upgrades, or enhancements
You communicate effectively with customers, Operations, Informatics, training teams, and technical stakeholders
You enjoy sharing knowledge and supporting the development of Level I analysts
Associate’s degree with 2+ years of relevant work experience
Experience supporting applications, system build, healthcare technology, or related systems
Ability to independently support assigned application work with moderate supervision
Experience with application configuration, testing, troubleshooting, documentation, or workflow support
Ability to research application and build issues, recommend solutions, and escalate complex issues when appropriate
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Applicable application certification, or ability to obtain certification as required for the assigned application
Ability to maintain required certification through New Version Training (NVT), as applicable
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant work experience
3+ years of application, system build, application support, healthcare IT, or related experience
Previous experience with the assigned application, customer base, or operational workflows
Experience with healthcare clinical or financial systems
Knowledge of current clinical or financial system workflows and processes
Experience supporting application implementations, upgrades, enhancements, and go-lives
Experience with testing, change control, issue management, and application governance
Experience supporting or serving as a resource for junior application analysts
Clinical licensure when applicable to the assigned application
