Job Overview:

The Lead Financial Analyst serves as the primary supervisor, strategic coordinator, and technical mentor for the Revenue Analytics team. This role oversees the Financial Analyst and the Senior Financial Analyst.  The Lead Analyst ensures the integrity of the health system's accounts receivable (A/R) reserves, models highly complex net revenue forecasting, and translates massive datasets into executive-level financial reports. Acting as a key bridge between the analytical staff and leadership, this position drives net revenue and reporting optimization across Managed Care, the Central Billing Office (CBO), and health system operations.

As a Lead Financial Analyst, a Typical Day Might Include:

  • Team Supervision: Manage, mentor, and review the daily work of the Revenue Analytics team, ensuring the accuracy of all deliverables from junior and senior analysts.
  • Workforce Development: Establish data validation protocols and cross-train team members on advanced billing system methodologies.
  • Workflow Automation: Oversee information system change control processes and spearhead data standardization to streamline the team's reporting pipeline.
  •  A/R Reserve Governance: Finalize and approve complex monthly A/R reserve calculations and contractual adjustments across all health system billing platforms.
  • Executive Communication: Synthesize data from the analytics team to deliver high-level net revenue variance analysis for interim and annual corporate financial statements.
  • Regulatory & Contractual Modeling: Lead the predictive financial modeling of large-scale
  • Strategic Budgeting & Planning: Spearhead the creation of long-range corporate financial plans and the annual net revenue operating budget..
  • System-Wide Consultation: Act as the senior financial resource and subject matter expert for leadership across the entire RWJBarnabas Health system.

To Be Considered for These Opportunities

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a highly quantitative field required
  • 7+ years of progressive financial analysis experience strictly within the Healthcare Industry, featuring a proven track record of managing complex hospital revenue cycles

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1–2 years of formal supervisory, team-lead, or project-management experience is highly preferred
