Clinical Quality & Data Analyst
Our Clinical Quality & Data Analysts support the organization’s commitment to improving patient outcomes, advancing healthcare quality, and maintaining regulatory and reporting standards. By collecting, validating, analyzing, and communicating clinical and operational data, this role helps identify opportunities for improvement and supports initiatives designed to enhance patient care and organizational performance. Working closely with the Director and interdisciplinary teams, the Clinical Quality & Data Analyst serves as a key resource for quality reporting, data management, performance monitoring, and clinical improvement initiatives, including efforts to improve CMS Star Ratings.
A Typical Day:
As a Clinical Quality & Data Analyst, a typical day might include the following:
Completing outcome reports, scorecards, and performance summaries to track and trend clinical quality outcomes.
Preparing, submitting, and reporting selected hospital publicly reported data elements in accordance with organizational and regulatory requirements.
Reviewing data validation reports and resolving identified errors, inconsistencies, and discrepancies to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
Working closely with the Director on clinical data projects designed to improve patient outcomes, strengthen quality performance, and enhance CMS Star Ratings.
Retrieving, collecting, organizing, and analyzing clinical and operational data to support quality improvement initiatives, regulatory compliance, and organizational goals.
Utilizing computer hardware and software, including spreadsheets, presentation tools, project management applications, electronic medical records, and data management systems, to retrieve, analyze, validate, and report data.
Working with the Director and multidisciplinary teams using databases and platforms such as Nuance, Vizient, Tableau, and Epic.
Completing, maintaining, and submitting records, reports, statistical summaries, and other data deliverables for department leadership and key stakeholders.
Assisting the Director in developing key clinical indicators for routine performance monitoring and communicating results to internal stakeholders.
Identifying trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement through the analysis of clinical and quality data.
Assembling and preparing data to support quality improvement projects, regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and organizational initiatives.
Supporting the development, implementation, and monitoring of clinical quality improvement initiatives.
Communicating data findings and performance results clearly and effectively through written reports, presentations, scorecards, and other reporting tools.
Maintaining the confidentiality and security of patient, clinical, and organizational information in accordance with applicable policies and regulations.
Completing special projects and other job-related assignments as directed by the Director.
Maintaining professional competence and staying current with relevant quality, data management, regulatory, and healthcare practices.

You are adaptable and willing to take on special projects and additional responsibilities as organizational needs change.
To Be Considered:
Education: Master’s degree in Information Systems, Public Health, Healthcare Administration, Data Analytics, or a related field preferred.
Experience: Experience in public health, healthcare data management, clinical quality, performance improvement, or a related healthcare data environment preferred.
Certification: Project Management certification or equivalent certification required.
Healthcare Knowledge: Working knowledge of medical terminology and the healthcare field required.
Data & Analytical Skills: Demonstrated ability to plan, collect, retrieve, validate, analyze, interpret, and report healthcare and clinical data. Requires a high level of analytical ability and attention to detail.
Technical Skills: Proficient computer skills required, particularly with spreadsheets, data analysis, presentation tools, project management applications, electronic medical records, databases, and other data management or surveillance systems.
Database Experience: Experience working with healthcare data platforms and databases preferred, including Nuance, Vizient, Tableau, and Epic.
Quality Improvement: Understanding of healthcare quality, clinical performance indicators, quality improvement initiatives, regulatory requirements, and organizational performance goals preferred.
Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills required, with the ability to effectively communicate data findings, performance results, and quality-related information to internal stakeholders.
Interpersonal Skills: Well-developed interpersonal and collaboration skills required to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams, department leadership, and organizational stakeholders.
Confidentiality: Demonstrated ability to maintain strict confidentiality of patient, clinical, and organizational information.
Project Management: Ability to organize multiple projects, manage deadlines, prioritize assignments, and contribute effectively to department initiatives.
Regulatory Compliance: Understanding of regulatory agency requirements, survey processes, compliance standards, and organizational policies preferred.
