Job Overview:
The RTLS Technician can demonstrate confidence in working with the Real Time Location System. Ensures the system is in good working order and up to date with current software releases. Will work with local facilities/IT &S and Construction Services with the deployment of RTLS to maintain consistent standards. Can assist and educate staff in the use of RTLS. Assists local facilities and system management in meeting regulatory requirements
Job Requirements:
- Minimum AAS degree in Electronics Engineering Technology or equivalent work/military experience in Electronic Engineering.
- 2 to 5 years of hands-on experience with RTLS technology
- Knowledge of electronic test equipment
- Developed troubleshooting skills
- Knows MS-Office and other computer applications
Preferred:
- Knowledge of computers and networks
- RTLS Manufacturer training
- RF knowledge
- Cabling certifications
Scheduling Requirements:
- Full-Time
Essential Functions:
- 60% if time: Manage and maintain RTLS tags and exciters. Including battery changes, programming, replacing and repairing tags and exciters. Manage the cleaning and reprocessing of patient used tags. Assist in the deployment / expansion in RTLS infrastructure. Assist with the maintenance of the RTLS software. Troubleshoots wireless/wired infrastructure related problems
- 10% of time: Assist in the training of other staff members within the hospital. Assist in developing educational programs for RTLS
- 15% of time: Assist Management and Facilities in developing and maintaining RTLS based policies and procedures. Assist in developing RTLS rules for workflow and stop loss notification. Assist in maintaining RTLS documentation. Including all diagrams, electronic files and paper files. Assist in inventory maintenance
- 10% of time: to document all activities in our work order system to meet regulatory and departmental requirements. All documentation will be accurate and complete. To validate a minimum of 85% productivity of work accomplished.
- 5% of time: Assist local departments in the location and maintenance of medical equipment
- ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED OR REQUIRED
